If you want to take your four-legged friend with you on trips or holidays, certain vaccinations are essential to protect them from disease.

A valid rabies vaccination, including an EU pet passport and microchip, is mandatory if you want to holiday outside Germany.

The microchip is used to identify animals and thus assign them to their owners. The microchip, which is about the size of a grain of rice, is implanted under the skin on the left side of the animal’s neck. This can be done at any time without anaesthesia. However, it is important to register with the pet registry! In addition to the unique identification of the animal, there are now also microchip-activated cat flaps and microchip-activated automatic feeders.
